Admission process for candidates not residing in Brazil to the Master and Doctorate program

Universidade Federal de Viçosa has offered The Graduate Program in Agricultural Economics at the master level since 1961 and at the doctorate level since 1972. The program was accredited by the Federal Council of Education (CFE), in accordance with report number 39/80 – case numbers 220/78 and 222/78, approved by the Ministry of Culture and Education on 31/01/1980 and published in the Official Gazette on 12/03/1980. In 2002, the program changed name to Applied Economics, as approved in the CEPE meeting on 05/12/2001. The students work full-time, under the supervision of an advisor or an advising committee.

1. Application
– Applications for the admissions process for candidates not residing in Brazil to the Master and Doctorate programs of The Graduate Program in Applied Economics, starting in the first semesters of 2021 and 2022, will be accepted in the period between the 23rd of October and the 25th of November the preceding year, by e-mail to ecr@ufv.br.

– Candidates to the Master Program: please send, by e-mail to ecr@ufv.br, prior to the respective deadline, the following documents: the diploma from your undergraduate degree, the transcript from your undergraduate degree and your resumé (accompanied by certificates).

– Candidates to the Doctorate Program: please send, by e-mail to ecr@ufv.br, prior to the respective deadline, the following documents: the diploma from your Master degree, the transcript from your Master degree, your resumé (accompanied by certificates) and a research proposal (ATTACHMENT 1).

2. The Selection Process
– The selection process for candidates not residing in Brazil is performed by the Coordinating Committee of The Graduate Program in Applied Economics, based on an analysis of the documents presented by the candidate.

– The selected candidates, for both the Master and Doctorate programs, will receive a letter of acceptance from The Graduate Program in Applied Economics.

– Subsequently, the candidates must register in the system of Universidade Federal de Viçosa (https://www3.dti.ufv.br/ppg/sisppg-inscricao-pos/instrucoes-inscricao-candidato/).
